This project aimed to increase attendance and engagement in the under 12 age demographics for Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), in particular their Children’s Art Centre (CAC). By creating a series of advertisements using popular artworks to highlight that all famous artists were once children that were encouraged to keep on creating. This series was targeted to a millennial/ young parent audience who would be bringing their children to the gallery. 

The consistent aim of this design solution was to keep consistent with GOMA’s existing branding and create materials that complement their style. The idea of contrast was something that is very heavily highlighted in the current branding in order to represent GOMA and the Queensland Art Gallery as different ‘siblings’ rather than entirely separate galleries. Contrast is imperative to a cohesive and clear design as it steers attention to important features and creates a visual hierarchy that assists the audience.
