This series of images was created to demonstrate the life phases of a poppy, as it bloomed and then withered.
day 1: the bud of the unopened poppy flower. this was my first time drawing from real life in a while, so it took a while to remember how to shade etc.
day 2: the poppy has half bloomed, yet half is still hidden. the movement and texture on the petals was difficult to capture but this is probably my favourite image of the set.
day 3: a fully bloomed poppy flower.
day 4: a few petals have fallen off the flower.
day 5: the remaining poppy stamens after all the petals have fallen.
